Dr. Evan Osar is an internationally recognized speaker, author, and expert on assessment, corrective exercise, and functional movement. He has authored several books on these topics including Corrective Exercise Solutions to Common Hip and Shoulder Dysfunction, Functional Anatomy of the Pilates Core , and Amazon #1 Best Seller, The Psoas Solution.

Early in his career, Dr. Osar recognized that there weren’t many practical resources on assessment and corrective exercise available to the health and fitness professionals that worked with everyday individuals including baby boomers and seniors as well as those individuals experiencing chronic medical conditions such as degenerative joint issues (osteoarthritis and post-joint replacements), postural issues, chronic tightness, and/or discomfort. Additionally, he noted that there weren’t definable guidelines for individuals that were discharged from chiropractic and physical therapy yet were still experiencing ‘incomplete rehab syndrome’ – the inability to perform at the level the individual wants or needs or to return to the activities they love to do because of on-going functional deficits in strength, stability, and/or balance issues. He developed the Integrative Movement System™ to help him assess the underlying causes of his patient’s posture and movement issues and for using specific corrective exercises to address and progress the individual towards successfully achieving their health and fitness goals.

With his wife Jenice Mattek, LMT, he created the Institute for Integrative Health and Fitness Education™ (IIHFE). IIHFE is dedicated to providing evidence-based and practical assessment and exercise resources for health and fitness professionals that specialize in working in the medical fitness space, with the older population, individuals leaving the health industry with ‘incomplete rehab syndrome’, and every day folks looking for safe and effective exercise programs. provides on-line and live education courses as well as two of the industry’s most advanced certification intensives – Integrative Corrective Exercise Instructor™ and Integrative Movement Specialist™. During these programs, participants learn functional anatomy, biomechanics, and motor control and how this information contributes to optimal posture and movement. More importantly, participants discover how to use this knowledge to choose the most appropriate assessments, corrective exercises, and functional exercise progressions to progress their clients towards achieving their goals

Dr. Osar is co-founder of Chicago Integrative Movement Specialists™ where he maintains an active practice.
